Healthy Habits

Healthy Habits.
First thing any doctor will tell you.  Loose weight... Drink more water... exercise... And eating healthy. Okay... Got all of that.

Eating healthy. Since August 2021 eating more healthy. 1600 calories per day. Limit sweets and carbs. Limit fried foods. And basically everything in moderation. Lost 19 pounds so far.  Check... Everything good.

Blood pressure is borderline,  so I'm on a special diet for that,  not restrictive,  but limits.

A1C was just a little high,  just over the line.  However blood glucose was good. Go figure,  now what? So additional limits on sugar products and carbs. A special diet for that.

Had an attack of gout for the first time ever.  But uric acid levels on blood were normal.  Again,  go figure,  now what? So I need to be mindful of a diet to avoid gout attacks. What the hell do you mean... NO BACON.

Now... The more I read,  the more dietary restrictions &  issues I have. Diet to lose weight,  diet for blood pressure.  Diet for A1C. And diet for gout. And what's good for one diet is bad for another. If each special diet was represented by a circle, where the four circles intersect is the "safe" foods for all the special diets. Wow... Where they intersect is smaller than small.  And it pretty much has all the foods that I don't like to eat.  Go figure.  Broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, leafy greens, tofu, soy products, and the list of undesired foods goes on and on. Everything I enjoy is okay for one diet and bad for another. So I'm kinda bad to basics... Everything in moderation... Monitor results... Make adjustments,  and hope for the best.  It's somewhere between totally restricted diets and the concept that... Well,  we're gonna die from something,  might as well enjoy eating.

Two steps forward, one step back, several to the side, a hop, skip, & jump... And we all fall down.

It all kinda tears at my usual happy demeanor.

MAYBE if I had some professional help to figure it all out... Think it through...
