"No news is good news".
There's a lot of advantages to not hearing all the negative and controversial news.
But then again, there's the current state of government.... and their lack of ability to control inflation, gas prices (that fuels inflation), border issues and the ever eroding confidence in the integrity and ability of government officials. Controversial issues conducted behind closed doors in secret from the public eluding to hidden agendas. And it never gets any better. Trust in government is eroding more and more with each crisis or controversy. One can't help but believe that things have gotten so bad that the system can never be fixed... and the great experiment in democracy that was the foundation of this country has become so corrupt and inept that it can never be fixed... doomed to fail.
Not sure if I hope it doesn't happen in my lifetime, or would welcome it.
