We all enjoy our favorite TV shows. Especially during the winter when it becomes the great American past time, particularly when Football Season is over. Long running TV shows have too often seen a change in characters as actors move on to other interests. It's life, it happens.
The mentality of the show writers seems to always rely on the same way to write out that character. A tragic dramatic senceless death of the character... surprise tragic endings.

Haven't those writers ever heard of happy endings? The world, and the country is consumed with crime and tragedy, among everything else. Yet the writers believe that even more tragedy on our favorite TV shows will help with our mental outlook. Shows
which in some small degree is an escape from the harsh reality and news of the day.
The most recent character victim of the writers morbid outlook on life was on the FBI. Couldn't they simply have written that the character left the FBI, and took his sweetheart and daughter to a peaceful life... Somewhere like Hawaii?
The dramatic shock of violently killing off the characters, right in the last moments of the show. Writers... give it a break!
It use to be that when an actor left the show, they simply told you that they died... You never saw anything. One of the most shocking departures was NCIS when in the last scene of the last show of the season, Kate was shockingly shot in the head, right on camera. Thanks to the writers.
