Not impressed...
For the most part, there's not much to be impressed about when it comes to Disney food.
Counter service food... For the most part it is hit and miss... Mostly a disappointing miss. Prepared in advance for the masses, Disney has the ability to produce mediocre food into disappointment... served barely warm, and lacking in appearance. And over the years, once decent counter-service restaurants go down hill, while others get better... It's like rolling the dice to keep finding good places. Menu changes along with good food being added, good food discontinued, or simply a drastic drop in serving quality, makes it hard to have regular places for good choices. Counter service in the resort hotels is a bit better than those in the parks.... fast food on a good day... 7 out of 10 for quality. Sadly, no one expects counter service food in the parks to be more than 5 out of 10 in quality... But sometimes you may get lucky.

One of our favorite snacks...
Table service, lower end on budgets. Most of the food is still prepared in advance for the masses. Generally a step above in serving quality over counter service. $$$
Table service higher end is generally much better and are mostly available in the resort hotels. $$$ - $$$$.
Naturally... It goes without saying the all Disney food is over priced for a captive audience. I guess most normal guests use counter service in the parks to save some money, but a couple of splurges for higher end dining will certainly enhance your experience. I hesitate to make recommendations because things change. I will say that the family style all you care to eat dinner at O'hana's in the Polynesian Resort Hotel was always terrific.
But it's not hopeless... Sometimes you're surprised.
Snacks and desserts are generally pretty good. Yum.
Probably there biggest problem for counter service in the parks is higher crowds. Kitchens made for lower crowds have to produce more food in advance, keeping it warm until sold. The higher the crowds, the more the food is prepared in advance, reducing serving quality.
Don't mean to present a negative outlook... But it is what it is.
