Trying to talk to someone that bases their existence on emotions... Well, it's pretty much a lost cause. It's easy to walk away from most people. For those you care about, it's hard to simply walk away.
So what's the difference? Absolutely nothing.
The quicker you learn (being older and wiser to lifes experiences) that trying to convince someone of anything beyond their emotional decisions... It's a lost cause. They are destined to learn things the hard way no matter how much you try to help them. So make your life easier. Offer your opinion just once, given your life experiences, and let it go. Telling them later... "I told you so"... optional.
