Something for nothing? Or Nothing for something?
Adding to the Disney Fast Pass ... should I say controversy... one day park admission with 3 fast passes attached. Good or bad? Well, the fast passes that are included are pretty much worthless compared to the high demand rides & attractions. And if there are restrictions on getting additional fast passes (especially on more preferred rides), than these "included" virtually worthless fast passes are actually detrimental if they prevent you from getting the best fast passes for the best rides & attractions.
So, from one perspective, Disney is giving you seemingly something great, which really isn't, and steers you away from the most popular fast pass attractions, via limitations, to help alleviate fast pass lines & stand by lines at major attractions.
Disney always... yes, always has an objective beyond the surface of what is being offered, aside from making more money. There is always an alternative added benefit in some way that favors how Disney is perceived, or to their advantage. If they can make you feel good about something, and can benefit Disney in some other way.. than it's a win - win for Disney.
But you be the judge for how you benefit, or don't benefit from from all the changes in the fast pass system. What I can say, from what I've read, your best advantage is to stay at a Premium Disney Resort to get the best privileges, options & advantages. Plus if you don't mind spending extra money you can purchase extra fast passes for a fee. Myself... I still liked the no nonsense system from years ago when only paper fast passes were available to everyone on the same terms of equal treatment & benefit... without special privileges or advantages to preferred guests. But than again, if I had unlimited budget for Disney, I'd love the new system, and the privileges and benefits that I could simply buy.
The below photos were copied from one of my favorite Fb sites. You should check it out... lots of great info. Of course, my written post express my views. You draw your own conclusions. As with everything, there's good & bad, and positive & negative aspects, as well as personal perspective. Disney is still the greatest place... Just not perfect.
