Night time parades at Magic Kingdom. Wow... It's been about 8 years since my favorite SpectroMagic Parade was replaced. I've known and seen two night time parades at MK.... Main Street Electric Light Parade which was in MK years ago, ended in 1999, and reappeared in 2010... and SpectroMagic , which was, in my opinion, so much better than the Electric Light Parade. I guess that after running SpectroMagic for 10 years, Disney felt that a change was needed. But rather than develop a better updated version, full of excitement, they brought the Electric Light Parade out of retirement. It was good in its day years ago, but paled in comparison to SpectroMagic high energy excitement. If you had experienced nothing different, than you would have known any thing different. But having years if enjoyable visits to Magic kingdom, I considered The Electric Light Parade stale and a disappointing replacement for SpectroMagic. But alas... Disney has been without a night time parade for almost two years now. Just one more thing that over years of visits, disappears, and newer guests will never miss it. Just like the extensive Christmas decorations that are now only a fraction of what they once were. One huge Example... the lighted gateway in Epcot leading to world showcase. Thousands of lights dancing to TSO Christmas music. Disney is full of change, new things come, and older things go. Many new things are better. But unique events like SpectroMagic simply being eliminated... well, it entirety disappointing. Still a magical place... but tarnished by disappointments observed over the years.
