Life here...

Life here in these divided United States. Divided... yes, most certainly.
Freedoms come with side effects, its when the side effects grow bigger than the freedoms. Fueled by the me generation, where it's all about the individual and those that group together to force others to live & abide by their beliefs. So what's happening, and who's the culprits. There's many to choose from, and they all promote their own agendas creating social division & social unrest, even to the point of directly or indirectly promoting violence.  Who's to blame?
POLITICS is a good place to start. Nothing positive ever gets accomplished because no one can work together on anything,  and they only seek to blame the other political party. Democratic elections... well, even after someone is elected, rather than working to accomplish what is needed, they bicker & fight endlessly.
RELIGION adds to the social divisions. Different beliefs are one thing, having an agenda to force everyone else to conform to these beliefs is simply an attack to everyone elses freedoms. Live the way you want... Don't force it upon others. What happened to live & let live?
RACE. Well... raise you children to be prejudice , as you are, and each generation will follow in those footsteps.  Social division at its greatest, generally, eventually leading to violence.
CRIMINALS. There's little consequences facing most criminals. A cancer on society where the bleeding hearts want to reform hardened criminals and murder gets at best a life sentence so society can continue to support them in prison. People are both victims of the crime, and then victims of the justice system.
PROTESTING. Generally thought of in peaceful terms to draw attention to an issue. Lately is only a source of violence. One side of an issues starts a protest demonstration while those in opposition incite violence. Government officials take no steps to control the situation until violence erupts, and people injured and property is destroyed.
WELFARE STATE. Goes without saying there's always those that work for everything they get, and those that drain society by living off the welfare system. Those on welfare yell their not getting enough and want more, and those that work having to support themselves,  their families, and everyone in welfare as well. Now there's a good reason for social division.
CULTURAL differences also play a part in social division. Where you were raised and local traditions provides many diversified feelings on values. And again, it only takes a smaller percentage of people to create social division and resentment because they simply can not live & let live.
MEDIA is the biggest culprit of them all. The media sensationalizes every story so that the news about everything bad is in your face every moment of every day. You either get half the story or its reported with a opinionated spin or slanted to support their agenda to influence and control what and how you think. Calling it propaganda is certainly not far from the truth. Every form of news media in varying degrees reports the news from agendas.... Political, religious, & cultural. One report will favor and side, while another will favor the other side. Each containing less facts and more emotionally charged opinions to influence people to more social division.
YEP... Life here in these DIVIDED United States. A mixed bag of more ways to resent others, hate others, and perpetuate violence... promoted by the media to maintain ever increasing social division.
FREEDOMS are becoming more and more infringed upon by malcontents created by greater influences to promote social division.
Live & let live is a lofty concept lost on people that are weak minded to let politics, religion, and the media influence and control your life.
Why can't people simply get along?
Nothing is perfect... but we as a country are certainly going in the wrong direction. Negatively influenced by those in power, emphasized by near radical segments of society, and sensationalize by the media.  It's a down hill plunge towards a total breakdown of society.
But that's just one perspective.  Some might think everything is just peachy.
