A world turned upside down.
Perhaps this is one mans opinion... and to each his own. Expressing your thoughts is a subjective concept. Obviously not everyone is of the same mind... and shouldn't be. One person's thoughts or beliefs, and even what one person may find offensive is their own. Just as I would not want to force my opinion upon others, I would not expect that others should try to force the opinion, beliefs, or what offends them upon me... in fact I highly resent it, resist it, and get aggregated when anyone wants to force me to conform to their ideas. Express your thoughts, even in a logical debate, but when you can not accept that I have a different view, and can not accept that I will not change to your way of thinking ... well... There's a problem.... and the problem is you. When public or political entities express a controversial view you can either agree, or disagree with them. Depending on how much it goes against your grain, you determine if you want to support or hold creditablity to that person or business. You value logical, common sense, judgment, perspective and interpretation of any issue. When someone or something looses that perspective you question their integrity and motives... and depending on your values, you will not support their ideas or thoughts, and possibly even resent them. As well as the loss of a respect, creditability, or consideration. And will probably express your feelings and thoughts accordingly. Having made my position clear... it is what it is... my perspective based upon my values, thoughts, and feelings.
A WORLD TURNED UPSIDE DOWN.
Many things in this country/world are simply wrong. Perhaps not so much the underlying issue or cause, BUT the manner in which it is brought to the forefront. IMPORTANT FACTOR: For me, the manner at which an issue is presented, PARTICULARLY If distasteful, it taints the "cause" right from the beginning, and immediately looses my support... for how it was done. I recently heard that someone said that the manner, whether offensive or containly false or exaggerated information, justified the end result for the issue or cause. And there inlies my greatest resentment, resulting in distrust, and questioning their moral intregity. So there you have it.
Finally... There's usually a point in a conversation, sometimes sooner, sometimes later, that I'll say... "well, we will just have to agree, to disagree". The end! Change the subject or walk away. But they will still, in a more questioning and stern tone of voice want still argue their view point... as if to change my mind, or compel me to their way of thinking. Stop talking! Not happening! Go away!
Again, my perspective, take from it what you will. Most recently the whole NFL issue of kneeling in front of the flag and anthem. To me it is distasteful and has no honoring the greatest degree. There is proper manner, place, and time to participate in these types of demonstrations. On the field, during the anthem, before the flag, is not one of them. Then there's the media that supports their questionable and controversial behavior, which contrary to defining an issue, creates even more social decision and unrest. If its their intention to create more chaos, then they have achieved it.
In the news... so what's the latest atrocity that earns them even more disrespect. After all, how can you respect anyone or any business that blatantly attacks your core values without any concept of common sense, morality, or social continuity. Nor will they not only loose my support, but they will earn my condemnation.
But then again, this is just my perspective on the situation.
To me, its a world turned upside down...
