Disney changes

Over the years Disney World has made may changes. Some are additions for completely new things that never existed before. Some are modifications.  Some are temporary. Some tear down exiting things to replace them with something new. And some things just don't seem right no matter the outcome.
Examples:
Disney Studios took down the park icon Mickeys sorcerer's hat.
(scratching my head on this one)
Torn down Mickeys & Minnies houses to expand Fantasy land.
(again... Idoeno)
Camp Minnie Mickey gave way to Avatar.
(okay, its all good)
Futuristic twin water towers to tomorrowland replaced with rocks.
(again scratching my head about this too)
Numerous attractions in shows replaced.
(that's a good thing)
The 25th anniversary cake castle ...temporary
(all I can say... big Fiasco, ugly as crap.)
Lots of things... too many to cover here.

Now... Planned for Epcot...
A resort hotel that sits right in front of the Epcot geosphere so that the hotel would block any view from the north (main parking lot) of the park icon.
I always got excited to finally see the sphere when pulling onto the parking lot. Now they plan to block it with another hotel. Sounds crazy to me.

Time to die

It only takes a second to text while driving... right? (and I slowed down).
And it only took a second to die...
And murder others around you. 
All the states have seat belt laws... to protect them, from themselves. 
Most still don't have laws about texting while driving... to protect everyone else from them.

And those that do, don't seem to enforce them. Passing cars on highway at 70 mph... I counted them... almost 1 in ten was texting or doing something on their phone. Generally swaying in their lane, hugging the line, or crossing it.

The hub

The hub... or as I always liked to call it... the castle courtyard.
The first photo show the original configuration and where construction began.
The second photo shows the expanded courtyard with garden greens and expanded pathways. A much needed improvement since the original was always a bottle neck of mass crowds. Good job! The downside... the increased viewing areas are sectioned for fast pass viewing of fireworks.  I'm told that the first choices for these fast pases goes to Disney hotel guests. Great if you stay at Disney hotels. Otherwise, just like all other fast passes... Priority goes to Disney hotel guests while locals, snowbirds, and off property guests get last choice if any passes are remaining. 

Countless times

Countless times.
Over the years, this classic ride never gets old. Pretty much any trip to Magic Kingdom has us going on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at some time during our visit. It simply wouldn't be a complete visit without going on Pirates. Can not explain it... it just is.

Different World

It's a different world. Cosplay.
If you've never been exposed to it's fascinating, colorful, and brings your favorite characters from movies & video games come to life. My first exposure to display, I think before it was even called display, was Star Trek conventions where everyday people would create costumes depicting Star Trek characters. But it is so much more beyond that.  Here's a few articles to enlighten you, and some photos of the incredible costumes made and worn by everyday people at Comic-Con conventions all over the country, and around the world.

Disney food???

Disney food that seems to me to be questionable. Most during the Food & Wine Festival.  Ya look at the sign... it sounds like something to try... and then you stare at it... quietly staring for several minutes. Pondering the idea of sampling it. From a mental standpoint, that little voice is screaming... DON'T DO IT!
But to each his own... adventure in new foods is really not my thing... and this probably won't change. What will change is that I won't even want to try. Definitely not going to try...absolutely not.

BTW... Don't know what each one was... Don't want to remember anyway.
