What do you do? 

You are from Maryland.  

You have friends visit from out of state. 

You have scrapple frying in the pan.

They ask you... " what is in scrapple?"

What do you do?  What do you tell them? 

Giving no thought at all... without hesitation, I tell them that it's made from all the parts of the pig that can't be used for anything else... ground up... mashed together into bricks...

then cut up and fried crispy on the outside, soft inside.

(smiling to myself... knowing their reaction)

"Or you can have sausage"

Okay... Sausage it is!

Again... Smiling to myself...

Scrapple... It's all mine!

Yum.

This same scenario also works for spam.

But if they don't know, I ask them...

Do you know what's in spam?

My explanation is the same...

They choose the sausage.
