Dreaded

Dreaded Dinner Nights as a kid.

Two or three nights a week were my parents favorite meals
that simply were dreadful for me.
I guess we all had them as a kid.

First and foremost... Liver & Onions
Yes,  I tried it once... hated it!
So you would think that once tried and hated
I'd never have to eat it again.
This logic was lost on my parents.
Not true,  each time it was cooked for dinner
I was suppose to try it again.
Didn't like it before... And I'm not going to like it now...
and I'm not going to eat it.
Then came the "just eat half of it ploy"
No... I don't like it... And I'm not going to eat it.
Then there was the "you're not getting anything else" ploy.
Followed by "kids are starving all over the world"
Sorry... Neither was going to work.
Then came the weekly ritual of sitting at the table
until of ate it, or it was bedtime.
This happened at least twice every week.
Note: while they watched my favorite TV shows in the living room.
Wasn't this a bizarre ritual perpetrated by the parents?
Yes... I was stubborn, I don't like it , I'm not gonna eat it.
Such was my life as a kid.

And there always seemed to be something I hated...
Either a main dish or vegetables.
Like cooked mushy leaf greens... yuck.

Today's version of Liver & Onions
DIRECTIONS...

You can always get another trash can.

Other notable hated dinners as a kid...
Stuffed peppers night and
Brussels sprout casserole night.
And two more nights sitting at the dinner table...
Until bedtime... Go figure.

Hated the taste of green peppers

OMG... Completely Aweful.
