Offended

Offended?

It's hard to understand how people are offended by certain issues, particularly ethnic groups.

It's all plain and simple...
In truth... It's a variety of agendas perpetrated by politics, the news media, and social media to create controversy and social division.
Is anyones TODAY LIFE  truly affected slavery issues from 165 years ago? Or is it all politics & the media telling you what to think, how to feel,  and who to hate? Can people no longer think for themselves? Or are they lead and conditioned to blindly allow politics, the media,  and others to control his they think and act?

Yes... Everyone is certainly untitled to their own feelings. But beware that they are not unduely influenced by others.

So long as those feelings don't try to dictate how others should think or feel, or force social change upon others.

Looking at what offends people from a logical standpoint brings up questions that seem to dilute the validity for their feelings.

First off... There was nothing right about slavery.
Having said that:
How are people effected today and offended by events from 165 years ago... The civil war. There is nothing from then that is affecting their lives today except in their own minds.

plus... How are they NOT OFFENDED by the slavery issues as they relate to colonial america, the foundings fathers that all owned slaves. The historic homes and places that involved slavery don't seem to be an issue. Founding fathers,  slave owners, pictured on our money. It's hard to understand why some things are offensive and others are not.

Of course its hard to understand the controversy over slavery which ended 160 years ago... and how people are offended, affecting their lives today.  It's history,  is in the distant past. It seems like the issue from 160 years ago is simply used to blame for their life today, and they are entitled to special treatment or consideration because if what happened 8 generations ago.

Like everything that divides society today, controversial issues always seem to revolve around politics, abortion, or slavery.
And its not going away.

It's feels like playing a "wildcard" ... the "slavery wild card" to achieve whatever agenda they choose.  Something to make their life today better? Something on which to blame todays shortcomings?

It's easy to understand racial prejudice which impacts lives today.
Slavery and the civil war is not a viable reason affecting peoples lives today. Why is there issues or even a debate over slavery affecting peoples lives today?

So why is no one offended by this?
(verses the civil war)

And why are some places offensive
in relation to slavery... And others are not?
We change the names to buildings, roads, and parks...
Destroy monuments of the civil war.
Desecrate graves of the Civil War.
But visit history sites that involved slavery
for recreational purposes.

 Just something to think about.
Think as you wish.
Believe what you will.
Feel as you feel.
Just think about it from a logical standpoint.
Think and question everything.
