Medicare... What you don't know and they won't tell you. Saw this on a media broadcast so I'm not sure if it's 100% true... But worth checking into. There's original Medicare from the government and then there's the multitude of other plans offering savings and added benefits. I was advised a few years ago to always stay with original government Medicare and not one of those other plans. Probably still good advise. What I recently saw was that if you switch to another plan at one of the 10 or so companies, there's some not so obvious risks. The one that surprised me stated that if you switch from government Medicare to another coverage company, after 12 months you could be locked into having to stay with that company, for the better or the worse. Once you past the 12 month window, switching companies can reject previous health issues. So if you had a pre-existing health condition, and switched companies, it will not be covered. For the rest of your life. And as the news media stated that I watched, they won't tell you this, but it's certainly something to check out and be aware of. Of course as we all see the in your face commercials on TV promising more money in your pocket and many added benefits... Well... Offers too good to be true usually aren't Beware.
As for me, I'll stick with original government Medicare. I have heard too many bad stories and certainly would trust other companies pie in the sky offers.
They offer to save you $144 per month and offer many more benefits not available on government Medicare. Just watch the commercials on TV. Once they got you, there's no going back if you have preexisting health issues. At least that what the report says. Check it all out... Better to be safe and know all the information than be sorry later.
