Photos

From my perspective...
Photos... the art of photography and art of taking photos and with creativity create something beyond a single photo. First, taking photos.  There's lots of ways to take photos.
Expensive equipment coupled with enhanced knowledge yielding extraordinary results.  Perfect photos that are not only enhanced technique, but have the capabilities of technology advanced equipment that less expensive equipment does not possess.
Then you have the expensive cameras in the hands of on novelist photographers, getting better than average results but perhaps a bit more hit & miss, still gets lots of great shots.
Next is the folks with point and shoot cameras, less expensive, sometimes even mere pocket cameras. Compared to the more tech savvy with expensive equipment folks, that pretty much get almost every photo exceptional, pockets cameras take good photos and perhaps one of ten is exceptional.  Pocket cameras have come a long long way with advancements in tech and automatic features. Even so, its all about capturing memories. Exceptional quality is just a bonus.
Computers, tablets, and even smart phones have programs and apps that transform average photos into exceptional photos.  With a little talent and patience to learn and develop technique using the programs & apps, the amateur can get results closer to that of expensive cameras. Closer, but some aspects of more advanced expensive cameras will never be matched by pocket cameras.
Perspective and a good eye. Changing the perspective of how the photo was taken also yields a different point of view and more character to the shot. A good eye for content also enhances results. Then there's the detailed photos that zoom in on specific items that are a small part of a normal photo, that brings out details otherwise less noticed.
Lastly... there's the creatively to not only take average photos and make them better, but to use programs and apps to create something unique. Combining multiple photos into a collage of photos that tell a story that merely one photo can not achieve. Be it something simple 6-10 photos, or colleges with 30-50 photos combined into one print.
Digital photography has made the professional photographer better, and elevated and narrowed the gap so that the amateur can obtain results to near that of professionals. What you can do after you snap the shot with enhancement & creative programs can bring everyone to having photos that are exceptional.  Of course there's always gonna be the shots that nothing is gonna help... delete! Digital photography has also had it possible take all the photos you want at no additional expense... so click away.
The main thing us to have fun with photography. Save memories to be relived later.  Then there's also the joy you may bring to others when you share your photos and creations. Have fun.
