Changing of the seasons... ahhh... the fall. October is mostly associated with Halloween and everything pumpkin. But fall festivals abound everywhere across the countryside. Arts & crafts, hayrides, vendors, and fresh off the tree, apples. All kinds of apples. Cool, fresh, crisp, juicy, sweet, apples. My favorite... gala! Great snack choice any time of day. Then there's the fresh kettle made apple butter from a wood fire in a big old copper cauldron... Delicious 😋. Take some home, fresh bake some biscuits, add real butter, and smear on the fresh apple butter... Delicious. Yep, the fall is my favorite time of the year... at least until spring is in full bloom in the mountains.
