Aging... The Effects...
Facing the inevitable.
Aging and the effects... Well, that's easy. One thing after another, your body looses its normal abilities. And as the occasional medical issues come and go with greater frequency, some do not go away, and it's just another condition that you learn to live with. Then they start to overlap... Two at a time, then three a time. Pretty soon the times of good health were nothing is afflicting you becomes shorter and shorter... until they all but disappear... There's always something causing pain, discomfort, or the loss of ability. Sometimes it feels like your body is slowly failing... And the realization that the inevitable is somewhere over the horizon. The average life expectancy is 80 years... But this brings little comfort... Too many people pass in their early 70s. And that's the great unknown... How and when? Not to dwell on it, or get depressed... enjoy each day and look forward to another trip around the sun. I'm in basically good health for my age... Not perfect, but realitive to my age verses ailments. Can't imagine what it would like to have a truly debilitating ailment or disease... And the mindset that follows. So, what do you leave behind? Years of experience, knowledge, and wisdom? Not really... kids and grandkids are not inclinded to use any of your wisdom to their benefit. Never have, never will. But you do have the satisfaction of knowing you lived a good life, found the love of your life to share it with, and lived happy all your life. And I guess that's all we really needed... a happy life. Anything going forward is all a bonus. Ouch... I need some excedrin. Y'all enjoy each day.
