Cause and effect

Cause and Effect... passion, enthusiasm, or apathy?

There are lots of issues that people should by concerned or passionate about even if they do not effect you or your life.

Having said that... Society today is conditioning everyone to have more and more apathy towards seemingly everything,  because of everything that is emotionally drama filled... unnecessary,  frivolous, lacking objectivity, or simply a result of cause and effect. If the cause of the issue was carelessly brought about by frivolous actions, there is little or no apathy for how it affected those that didn't have any concern for the consequences. Then there are those that are emotionally offended by things that truly don't affect their lives, except by their own mental emotional irrational feelings, that they elevate into major issues. Their lives are negatively affected by their own self-induced anguish... being offended by everything.

A logical rational person would find it hard to have any apathy for those that created their own negative situations. So... The reaction of "I don't care",  becomes the foremost response.

You decide for yourself what you are enthusiastic or passionate about... what you would have apathy for even though it doesn't affect your life... or what you deem to be frivolous, meaningless or without merit because of its irrational drama origins that motivates their obsession with being emotionally offended. Repeatedly doing something that dangerous to your body that results in negative consequences... cause and effect... No one is going to feel sorry for you. Hence... "I don't care" attitudes.

So yes... The society is becoming less and less apathetic to certain issues. Example:  Renaming of streets and buildings because it offends people. Lots of drama, lots of turmoil, more and more social division. Social division that becomes greater, having exactly the opposite effect on everyone. They won the battle to rename the streets, but elevated the war to have more social division... cause and effect.  Has their lives been enriched or changed for the better?  Or have they moved on to yet another emotional drama-filled issue on which to crusade?

They yelled and crusaded for defunding of police. (there was and is an legitimate underlying issue of police abuse). Now, that there is less police presence,  they demand that something be done for their crime ridden communities. Reactions... Cause and effect.

Take from this what you will. It's okay to feel the way you do. As for me...  I resent emotional filled drama ... And my first reaction in many cases is... "I don't care" ... And ... I don't even care that I don't care.
