Just when you thought...
It couldn't get worse...
or maybe you expected it...
Disney World is raising prices AGAIN.
SOME KEY POINTS: (as being reported)
CEO Bob previously indicated the following...
Prices will continue to increase to control park overcrowding so that each guest can have a better experience. So much for that concept.... How about capacity limits?
Capacity Limits? Bob just raised or eliminated park capacity limits.
Capacity Limits? Bob just raised or eliminated park capacity limits.
The parks are already under staffed... But to prepare for the upcoming economic recession, Bob has put a freeze on hiring... So the staffing situation will only get worse.
And as Bob promised... price increases are coming. Increased prices based on not only peak times, but also park specific. Magic Kingdom, the most popular park, will have high end prices of $189 per day. So a family of four will spend over $800... For one day, just to get into the park. Plus parking, plus the need to buy lightening lane passes to actually get on the rides. Not to mention the price increases for food, drinks, and merchandise. All the while dealing with massive overcrowding... Long lines for rides, attractions, and food... even getting around through the crowds can be troublesome and annoying.
All dealing with the current ticket and reservations to even get into the parks, and the restrictions on park hopping.
The overall facts.... Guests & cast members are not happy with Bobs policies over the past 2 years. So much so that the overall feeling is that the Disney magic is gone. Clearly the cast members are not happy with all the changes that affect them, coupled with the stress of being under staffed and over worked. And this all reflects on the guest experience. Add to this, with so many new cast members that replaced long term conscientious cast members... new cast members seem to care less about the guests experience... And the guests see this.
Here's what people are saying...
