Note... I don't think they really said that some 60 years ago.
But then again... Just think about Star Trek.
Today... We hold more computing power in our smartphones than NASA did for the Apollo missions to the Moon. Kinda gives a new meaning to the saying... "flying by the seat of their pants" ... But I guess that's literally exactly how it was. But then again being all litteral... What does that saying actually say? Like so many saying from the past.
Kinda like old phrases that hang around with us older folks... like roll down the car window. Ya never think about it until a grand child asks... What does that mean? ... "roll down" ?So I guess the older the saying, the less it makes sense when taken literally. Yes just had to be there to understand.
