Sunrise across the battlefield and the valley. It's completely quiet. No sounds at all. No cars. No farm equipment. No people. No birds. Not even the wind through the grasses or trees.. No motion of any kind. You can almost imagine that you can hear the sun rising. It's an eerie feeling, yet absolutely calming.
Supernaturally quiet... As if nature was enjoying a time of silence and reflection in rememberance of the battle that took place here 160 years ago. Silence for those that died. Quite the surreal experience. Like most things in nature, you never know what will absolutely surprise you. You just need to take a moment to enjoy the experience. What a great way to start the day. The silence was finally broken by the sound of a hummingbird, hovering in front of me for several moments, then speeding away as quickly as it had arrived. I'm sure there's some kind of a sign to this morning. I'd like to think that nature, or the universe, is simply saying that everything is gonna be alright. Be calm, reflect, and enjoy today. Sounds like a good time to go have a coffee and some breakfast. Eggs over easy please, with bacon and crispy home fries... with white gravy. Red raspberry preserves on buttered toast sounds good too. Y'all have a great day.
