Choices... so many choices. Themes and atmospheres to soot whatever you desire. Disney World Resort Hotels offer the best of the best. Sometimes it hard to choose but there's still the favorites. Theme & atmosphere is no doubt the main consideration... but location is important too. Personally... we love the Wilderness Lodge. Great for all of our considerations of theme, atmosphere, and location.
But all in all... It's a personal preference. The Polynesian and Animal Kingdom Lodge are both great choices... although the only transportation from the lodge is by bus.
Wilderness has both bus to anywhere and boat to Magic Kingdom. Polynesian has bus to anywhere, and boat or monorail to Magic Kingdom. Port Orleans Riverside has a relaxing southern plantation theme, and Port Orleans gives you the flavor of New Orleans. Both have bus transport to anywhere, and boat to Downtown Disney (aka as Disney Springs). Other favorites include Beach Club, Key West, and if traveling by motor home, Fort Wilderness Campground.
