Desktops

Guys are generally creatures of habit. Once we consider it “perfect”… there’s no need to change it… ever!

But for me, some things need to change all the time. My computer desktop… 3-4 days… and there’s another desktop. I have my favorites that I that I rotate more frequently… my top ten list as it were. Here’s some of them. Sometimes just one photo isn’t enough. So I enjoy collages… collections of the best of the best.

Brandi’s Girls

Growing up so fast!

This year 9, 8, and 6 years old.

Be Happy.

aaassd

Faster… Faster!

Faster… faster… faster… where did all the time go?

Going… going… and someday gone.

going-going-gone

Reality… the thinking mans dilemma. Getting a grip on it all. Separating truth, fasts, and beliefs… and how it influences your life. Ahh, now I get it. When you finally get time to slow down and think, analyze, rationalize, and come to a new level of thought… one epiphany after another… wow… you wonder why you didn’t think of this sooner. Of course, now older, you have more of life’s experiences to draw on.

Time speeds up as you get older... it's true. You unknowingly speed along in life until something hits you... you stop... look at where you are... OMG... how did the years go by so fast. Shocking… isn’t it? And it gets more intense as you get older... especially when the mirror can no longer lie. And then it gets worse... the only one's that understand what you are saying are old like you... the younger generations know it all, they have the world all figured out... and maybe they do... since it's changed so much so fast. And then it really gets worse... society as a whole has no use for you because you are old... you are the last consideration on the social levels. Put out to pasture. And then the ultimate reality hits you... you're not going to live forever... there's a finality to it all... and the end is much closer then the beginning. But take comfort in it all... the most important thing in life was to be happy, live happy, and make others around you feel happy. Share good thoughts, sprinkled with some thoughtful insights, that enrich not only your life, but perhaps, if only in small doses, bring joy and comfort to others. Having been know for the person you are, appreciated, and respected. So what's your next step. Mine? … Write a blog to share with others... perhaps bring a smile to their face... lift then up when they are down... and perhaps more importantly... there's the idea that when you are gone... all those that had such a busy life will someday wonder about you and find some of the answers in your writings.  I wish I know more about my parents and grandparents. They all pasted away while I was young… leaving very little answers, and a lot of questions. Old photos, that despite the old saying… “a photo is worth a thousand words”… say very little. Wow... now there's something to think about. Guess everyone wants to be remembered for generations to come. But it’s all fleeting… only bits and pieces of faint memories.. pasted down until lost in time. Maybe it’s human nature to not want to be forgotten too quickly. Facing the inevitable… ya make the most of your efforts and time here to be happy. Simply be happy! … and share that happiness to others. Does anyone else feel this way? From my perspective… I hope so. To the younger folks… remember in this busy world to occasionally slow down to enjoy your happy place as much as you can.

Before it’s going… going… gone!

…maybe ya have to be here.

You’d gain 2-3 pounds just inhaling the sweet candy filled air.

So when in Nashville… go for the candy!

don’t remember the name of the shop,

but it’s right up the main st… straight up from the river.

But here’s a photo of the store front

( right side of street heading away from river)

DSCN2901

Pretty much a must see if in Nashville…

must see, must smell, must sample,

must close your eyes to enjoy every sensational bite,

must buy some to eat while walking,

must buy more to take home,

must buy some for friends…

then forget friends and eat them yourself…

should feel guilty… but won’t!

Now this is just one of the dozens of places you need to visit

but more on that later.

Like Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville

or the Wild Horse Saloon

Hard Rock Cafe

B.B. Kings Blues Club

Opryland

The Gaylord Hotel

Country Music Hall of Fame

just to mention a few.

Give yourself several days to take it all in.

and of course, country western clothes and boots.

Photo Programs

Gotta Love digital photography… seriously… I Love It… and the photo programs that I can use with it. The are dozens of photo programs, but several of my favorites are:

Window Live Photo Galley – Quick photo viewing and quick, easy, and simple editing features.
Microsoft Picture-It. – Making Collages and combining photos
ArcSoft Photo-Impression – Special photo enhancement features
PhotoShop – Even more detailed and specialized photo enhancement features

Yep, a cheap and creative hobby to past the time away and create something special.

Now, if only I could make a little extra money doing this.

Here’s a couple of samples to perhaps fire your imagination.

Taking a regular photo, adding graphics (clipart) to create a keepsake.
