Retired to country life

Retired to Country Life

Background... grew up in Baltimore county, a near city environment... no open spaces. Homes & businesses everywhere. Very convenient.

Moved to  Harford county to be in a more rural setting, but over 20 years, the near city atmosphere surrounded me.

Sold the house and went full time Rving for 20 years. Traveling to busy places, quiet places, relaxing places, and highly tourist places. Mountain places, beach places, and farm country.

Now after doing pretty much everything we wanted to do, rving traveling adventures, 1-2 month vacations, exciting times and relaxing times... we got a real feel for where we wanted to finally settle down... Country life.

Near Culpeper Virginia, 15 miles out if town in the farmlands. We get to see the mountains everyday and enjoy wide open spaces. No crowds, no traffic, very few people. No hustle and bustle of near City Life. Fresh air, peace & quiet, and time to simply relax and enjoy nature.
30 minute drive to Shenandoah National Park and Skyline Drive... One of my favorite places growing up.
Surrounding us in not only lots of nature,  but lots of historical areas... kinda like living through history. In town there's lots of buildings and homes dating bad to the early 1800's.

Only a few good restaurants in town, but we have Lowes, Walmart... and for everything else there is Amazon.

45 minutes takes us to Charlottesville or Fredericksburg for that big - little town convenience of lots of stores and lots of restaurants. Generally... too many people for my liking.

Yep... country life... I'm home for the rest of my life.

Yep... I've had enough tourist areas / attractions to last me the rest of my life.  Lots of great memories... But I don't need to do it again. Any time the road is more than one lane each way... I'm getting too close to too many people.
