Beach or Mountains

Beach or Mountains...

Preferences and perspectives. The are endless positive favorite things about both the beaches and the mountains.  Beaches were always great for vacations.  We even lived at the beach for 5 years in the Florida panhandle. The show white sands of navarre beach and Pensacola beach. Very tourist oriented and often crowded. Between this beaches was Santa Rosa Island and the National Seashore. 20 miles of unspoied natural beaches that were never even slightly crowded. Many times we could pick a spot and not see but perhaps 5 or 6 other people... Sometimes,  no one at all. White sand beaches, crystal clear emerald green and blue waters. It was a wonderful experience at the beach. Away from the beach, tourists and the related crowds were a bit much.... all the time.  Stores, restaurants, attractions, and the roads always crowded. Spring & summer holidays were the worst. Still, all in all, a good experience.

Now we live in the valley of central Virginia, seeing the mountainson ever drive into town. It was  a short drive to go up on the  mountain and all its natural beauty.  I have to say that retiring and living near the mountains is far better than the generally crowded tourist beaches.

The peace and quiet of the farm land valley, close to the mountains and all the beauty of nature... can not think of any better place to retire.  Photos can not do it justice.
