Years ago,  somewhere in the middle of the last century, politics & politicians had a great degree of ethnics & integrity for public service, to benefit "we the people". 

NOW... Politics, politicians,  and political parties have corrupted the very concept of morality,  ethnics, and integrity.  They have no honor,  nor do they have the respect of the people. 

Is all hope lost? 

Single minded goals

RECOVERY... Every step requires 100% concentration. Every motion proceeds with great caution.  Maximum effort yields small increments of progress. Patience and perseverance. Single minded goal. This is going to take some time.

What a world it would be if nature made ants bigger. If they were the size of humans, well, humans would not exist. Ants would have ruled the world before humans even got a good start. When you think of it,  individually they are amazing... Incredible strength and able to fall from great heights without injury. And socially they work together for the common good.

Getting Old and Surgery 

Surgery... Sooner or later,  it becomes a fact of life. And perhaps I'm better than most. Nothing life threatening,  but clearly involving quality of life. Five years ago, both knees, total replacement ten months apart. Both life changing for the better.  Now total hip replacement of of one hip. Hopefully also life changing for the better. 

Recovery seems to be better than that of the knees,  but still,  a recovery / physical therapy process. And once again is emotionally hard to rely on others to do what you were fully capable of doing yourself.  

All in all... Physically demanding and emotionally draining. 

Thank goodness I've got great support from my wife. 

Still, loosing interest in anything except getting better.

OMG... SOME PEOPLE

It's hard to believe that  "some people" are already thinking about Halloween 🎃.  Omg... They are formulating plans for everything. Where everything will go, lighting, and more spider webs. They are even listening to some Halloween music.  And after their hip is all better, it all starts begining mid September. Yep, 6 weeks of Halloween 🎃.  Scary movies start as soon as get they home. I'm not naming names, but... some people.

The News

The News...

First... I hate the news.  It may seem a bit careless or something else,  but personally there is absolutely nothing on the news that I'm interested in. Nothing is ever good news.  The only thing remotely good is the weather... And I can get that on my phone,  anytime I want. I particularly hate political news. 

But for some reason,  the grandkids, which are all teenagers, seen to be in tune to political news... As if they don't already have enough drama in their lives. And for some reason,  they feel compelled to tell me the latest political news. My typical response... all the time is... I don't care. I don't know,  I don't want to know, and I dont care. Which translates to their ears... tell me more. Go figure. 

So being at least temporarily polite, I'll listen for 60 seconds. Yes, a full 60 seconds.  Then I will ask ridiculous questions or make off the wall comments to frustrate them. It doesn't take much. But since I do it sincerely, they go along with each comment. Down the merry path to confusion and frustration.

After commenting or questioning on several of their statements, they told me the latest news.  They told me that Biden wasn't going to run. Like a typical response from me,  I told them with no uncertainty... Hell... Biden is not going  to run... How wss he going to run?  He can't even hardly walk. And despite my various attempts to frustrate them, they calmly respond to each of my comments... Trying to help me understand what they are trying to say. Amazing, this goes on for several minutes. Then they finally get it.  Their serious attempts to tell me something that is clearly important to them politically,  continuously met with my own humorous responses, strickly for my amusement, then it finally becomes clear that while they are serious,  that I'm the least bit interested in politics.  Even more amazing, this is repeated every couple of days. 

And that's why I'm more happy... and they are personally aggravated and agitated by everything political. I listen to all their conversations on things about their life,  as any grand parent should,  but nothing political.  

So there's a lesson here.  I guess it depends on your perspective.

My perspective... I'm happy all the time. And that's all I need to know. 

Young people are so filled with unnecessary drama. 

Did I mention... I hate the news.

Therefore... I am happier.

Most countries have beautiful cities. Mountains of skyscrapers that concentrate and provide homes to millions. The prosperity of big cities, all the diversity... a tribute to the country and its citizens. Anything, anytime, everywhere. A blessing to all that enjoy city life.

 
As for myself,  the big cities and all it offers,  holds little appeal to me. To many people,  to many crowds... the hustle and bustle and activity  would set my head spinning. I enjoy the peace and tranquility of nature and wide open spaces. 

Each has a beauty of their own.

World Population

World Population

As the world's population increases unchecked...

Vacation and tourist destinations have grown in a modest level... Some, perhaps most, are merely the same size. Yet the population has grown and continues to grow creating ever larger crowds everywhere. 

The older you are, the more excessive todays crowds will seem. The younger generation that hasn't grown up knowning anything different would view huge crowds as bring normal. And it is the new normal. 

But seeing 70 years of crowd evolution and escalation... What was normal for us those 50, 60, and 70 years ago... well, todays crowds seem excessive beyond belief. How could this ever be fun? 

And as population grows, crowds will only get worse. Every tourist vacation destination will be unbearably crowded. 

Sad that everything has changed. Too many people. 

Looming... a world population crisis. 24 years ago science concluded that the world population would out grow the ability to feed everyone. That population saturation day has recently come to pass.  Exceeding the doom day forecast... or perhaps this is just the beginning of extreme food shortages. 

In any event... every place is too crowded,  and the ability to be kind or considerate or caring is fading fast.

Tourist destinations are not fun anymore. 

Political Crap

Please excuse this moment of serious reality.

Please excuse that terminology... But in reality,  everything political is total crap. 

We have one candidate, Trump, that half of America hates for whatever reasons... That's why they elected Biden the last time. They didn't vote for Biden, they voted against Trump.

And another candidate  Biden, that had demonstrated since elected that he is physically and mentally compromised... and getting worse. Does anyone truly have any confidence is his abilities.  How can someone that can not articulate his thoughts to something being coherent have the confidence of the people to lead and defend this country? And Now has own political party is encouraging him to step down and not run for president.  That in its self tells you something. He has extreme difficulties even reading the teleprompters with any degree of competency.  

Just one more continuing problem with the political party system. People are so intrenched with either of the parties that they blindly vote their party line no matter who they offer to lead the country. This is especially true for the welfare vote. Traditionally the democratic party gives out the welfare to those that want something for nothing,  many of which are "career welfare" recipients... thus ensuring their vote.  And of the current administration, more than ever before,  more people are receiving more freebies to broaden the welfare vote for the Democratic party.  It's a legally corrupted practice that ensures them stay in power.  And that's what its all about... Starting in power.

Many have no confidence in Biden. And the democrats are worried that what got him elected the last time... Voting against Trump... will not cover come the negative of Bidens ongoing mentally compromised ability to govern this country. 

Good help this country if there is a major war or crisis... Biden severely weakens the presidency... and the ability to  take swift and decisive actions. 

World leaders, both allies and enemies, clearly can not have any confidence in Biden. And I'm sure enemies relish the thought of Biden returning as President. Allies feel vulnerable at the weakeness of American leadership. Allies may respect the office of the president of the United States ... Governmental Protocol and courtesy... but how can they respect or have confidence in Bidens ability.

I wouldn't be surprised that a major conflict between the U.S. and  Russia, or North Korea, or China, wouldn't erupt while Biden is still in command. They would want to take advantage of this diminished mental capacity white he is still in office. This had got to be on the mind of the U.S. military... our allies... and our enemies.  

All in all... very sad... very serious situation.
