The season is winding down... but all the games are exciting! Raven go to 12 wins, 3 losses.... best in the NFL.
But like so many of the Ravens wins, three factors come into play. Lamar Jackson and the offense. Ravens defense. And the degree that the other team screws up and makes costly mistakes.
Ravens vs the 49ers. While the announcers and the football gods think that Jackson is nothing short of the next coming I'm a bit more less emotional... and perhapsa bit more critical. I'm not that big on Jackson. His physical ability is real... but his ability to consistently make smart decisions is more than just questionable. And as the bad decisions pile up, so does the level of criticism. Each week they like up. And while the stats are good there are simply too many bad decisions. Smarter play would go a long way to elevating his performance.
So... Why are the Ravens doing so well? Defense rules most of the time. A 60/40 deal? Defense 60%... Offense 40%. And, on more times than not, the other team misses up so much at critical times that puts the win to the Ravens. Ravens vs the 49ers... Despite Jacksons numerous bad decisions, offensive dropped balls, and even defensive missed tackles... the 49ers turnovers... Was it 5 or 6? ... were a major factor in the Ravens win. Lots of the Ravens wins can be attributed mostly directly to the other teams mistakes.
BUT A WIN IS STILL A WIN. RAVENS ARE #1 IN THE NFL.
