Football Season is in full swing.
But not without some controversy. First there's watching college football verses your number one NFL. Some of the rules are glaringly different sometimes to distraction. Add in how some calls by the refs differ by not only the rules, but what they call one time, and not the next. What they see and call, and what they miss.
Of course, that's the same in the NFL... What they see and call, and what they unbelievably miss and don't call. The inconsistently of what they call and what they don't call seems to be more numerous this year... and in crucial moments that greatly determine the outcome of the game. Makes you wonder why this is happening so frequently. And this all makes for more controversy and resentment towards the refs. Personally I would not want their job... split second decisions that come under intense scrutiny via replays. Amazingly they get mostly all cakes correct... but any call that is wrong and greatly effects the outcome of the game ... well, the refs take it on the chin... front and center.
The next issue is the players that let emotions get out of control and it turns physical with other players. Pushing, shoving, and bralls seem more commonplace. I'm sure that there are guidelines but it seems that the refs are losing control by not ejecting more player infractions. Too many fights with no consequences. Street thug mentality is out of control ... Should be zero tolerance.
But maybe that's just my perception.
Not withstanding this... Enjoy the football games.
