There’s always been the desire to control the weather… just check out the sci-fi movies. Of course there are always two sides to everything… good and bad. A machine put to good use to make the weather better for enjoyment and economic prosperity, or one to be use as a weapon and to make someone’s else’s weather bad, disruptive, or even destructive. Such is the stuff of science fiction. But as with all things sci-fi… it generally sparks the scientific advancements to make what was once impossible, now possible. Throw in some deviant applications with a somewhat secret or hidden agenda, and you’ll have the makings of modern day conspiracies… or at the least some unexpected negative results that impacts the population at large. So is this sounding a bit like a conspiracy theory…perhaps. I have become, from a reality standpoint, a bit skeptical about most things that involve government, politics, and big business. Of course these are all pretty much the same, or at least sleeping with each other for a common goal. Time and time again the following is always proven to be true. If anything involves money, power, or control over others… there is bound to be a conspiracy afoot.
So, getting back to the weather issue. For many years the government, and no doubt others, have dreamed of controlling the weather for strategic or economic purposes. And they have accomplished this in various smaller degrees. And they have been experimenting more and more on this as the years has passed. Of course, like with most advancements into the unknown, experiments most times have unexpected side effects that can not be predicted. So, is the government experimenting and we are seeing those effects… well… they would never say. And the experiments continue without the logical thought process which is not to ask if they can, but should they try? Dabble in the unknown that may have negative impact either short term on ever lasting… like changing the weather around the world forever.
Just a concept to consider if you want to know more about such things. Like the HAARP program… what they tell you, and what they don’t. HAARP send signals into the upper atmosphere to advance military applications, but it is rumored to effect the atmosphere and influence weather, effecting the jet stream. The jet steam influences weather patterns across the world. In North America it brings cooler milder air from the north during the hot summer… and it also brings colder arctic air in the winter. Effect the pattern of the jet stream… make it dip further to the south… and you will get colder weather deeper into the south.
The latest weather change has been the recent record breaking low temperature across the entire country. It’s being called The “Polar Vortex”, which plunged the country into a deep freeze for three days straight. Polar Vortex… sounds like something from a sci-fi movie.
Just something to think about…
The worst of the brutally cold "polar vortex" that plunged millions of Americans into a deep freeze was over Wednesday, forecasters said, but temperatures remained between 10 and 20 degrees lower than normal. The weather system was receding north, having set new record low temperatures in 50 cities on Tuesday. Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minn., spent 62 consecutive hours below zero. Chicago spent 37 hours below that threshold, including 29 hours in double digits below zero. Subzero temperatures were still widespread across the upper eastern half of the United States on Wednesday, but most areas affected by the extreme cold were beginning to thaw. Conditions are expected to be back to normal by Friday. Temperatures plummeted as a whirlpool of frigid, dense air known as a "polar vortex" descended on much of the United States. "It’s still going to be below average for most of the East but the worst of the Arctic outbreak is over with," said Guy Walton, a meteorologist at The Weather Channel.
The polar vortex is a cyclone of high winds which usually sits at the North Pole. Changes in the jet stream have meant these winds traveled south, encasing much of the U.S. and Canada in ice throughout the week.
All 50 states dipped below 32 degrees at some point Tuesday — even Hawaii, where it was 25 at the top of the Mauna Kea volcano, which is normally right at the freezing line this time of year. Schools and businesses closed for a second day. Single-digit temperatures were recorded at sunrise as far south as Georgia and Alabama, and parts of Minnesota were as cold as 25 degrees below zero. A 118-year-old record was shattered in Central Park in New York, where it was 4 degrees, the coldest reading on the books for Jan. 7 and the coldest at any time since January 2004. Factor in the wind, and it felt like 31 below in Chicago, 16 below in New York and 45 below near the U.S.-Canadian border in Minnesota.
Why is our weather being effected… is it a natural cycle of the Earth… or is it being influenced by man-made interferences. Perhaps a bit of both. Either scenario is a bit scary. Is science messing with things without realizing the potential hazards? Well, that answer is yes… anything the government or big business funds research for is motivated and driven by monetary gain or military application. This overshadows the basic question… should we do this? the first consideration is “can we” and the last consideration is “should we”? And the research and experiments continue. So are experiments responsible for these weather changes? Are there hidden agendas or conspiracies? Who knows for sure… but the odds are that something is always happening at least in some degree. But that’s just something to think about.
Frigid temperatures generated by what one meteorologist labeled a “polar vortex" took hold across a wide swath of the Midwest and Northeast early Sunday, as the regions dug out from a deadly snow storm and braced for another blast of dangerous winter weather. The frigid air is coming from the North Pole and — due to a jet stream — will be intense and mobile. Forecasters said record lows could be eclipsed. "All the ingredients are there for a near-record or historic cold outbreak. Because of the winds, “It may feel as cold as negative 50 to negative 60 on Sunday night over sections of the north-central states," the National Weather Service said. In those conditions, frostbite can set in on exposed skin within five minutes, forecasters warned.
Questionable research?
A new research installation [HARRP] is beaming powerful radioactive energy into the upper atmosphere. Exploring conventional and exotic military uses of the air waves towards its goals. At a remote facility ringed with barbed wire, a brand-new array of 36 antennas rises from the black spruce forest that stretches hundreds of miles across central Alaska. Undergoing testing, the antenna field is the visible part of a powerful and sophisticated high-frequency radio transmitter designed to transform areas of the upper atmosphere. When the full HAARP facility is constructed, it will include several sensing and analysis systems. At its heart is the antenna field, which now is a demonstration version of a larger planned array named the ionospheric research instrument (IRI), which will include 360 antennas. The IRI is designed to temporarily modify 30-mile diameter patches of the upper atmosphere by exciting, or "heating," their constituent electrons and ions with focused beams of powerful, high frequency radio energy. A household analogy would be a microwave oven, which heats dinner by exciting the food's water molecules with microwave energy.Earth-penetrating tomography is a startling potential use of ionospheric heating. The method would work by beaming radio energy into the Auroral electrojet, the curved, charged-particle stream formed at high latitudes where the solar wind interacts with Earth's magnetic field. The radio energy then disperses over large areas through ductlike regions of the ionosphere, forming a virtual antenna that can be thousands of miles in length. Weather manipulation may be possible by building an ionospheric heater a thousandfold more powerful than HAARP. Differential heating of areas of the atmosphere could induce local weather conditions, such as floods or droughts, useful to the military. Smooth seas might suddenly be raked by treacherous squalls, creating or denying a tactical advantage. For decades, high-frequency heaters around the globe have been operated by researchers studying how the injection of radio energy affects the ionosphere, and the process by which the upper atmosphere recovers from the disturbance. These include transmitters in Tromso, Norway, which are operated by Germany's Max Planck Institute; Nizhny-Novgorod, Russia, and Dushanbe, Tadzhikistan, which are manned by Russian scientists; and U.S. facilities at Arecibo, Puerto Rico, and Fairbanks, Alaska. HAARP's power output nearly twice that of any other ionospheric heater combined with the rapid beam-steering ability and broad frequency range of its transmitter, will permit the IRI to modify higher-altitude areas of the ionosphere from greater distances than ever. A bank of six 2.5megawatt, 3,600-horsepower diesel generators powers the IRI prototype.
Others harbor a strong distrust of the program. A local organization called No HAARP firmly opposes the project on environmental and communications-disruption grounds. "This is not good science," contends retired ARCO Production Technologies employee Clare Zickuhr, who leads the group. "They have no idea what this thing could do to the ionosphere. To put this in the hands of the military scares the hell out of me." HAARP has proceeded full-steam ahead since its inception in 1990. The total amount of money spent over the past six years exceeds $58 million and may reach nearly $200 million by the end of the decade, when the installation is scheduled to be completed. The effort is a "congressional specialinterest program," meaning that supporters in Congress request funds for it on behalf of the Air Force and Navy. Senator Ted Stevens (R-Alaska) is a staunch supporter of the program. Other Alaska state officials, however, have not been briefed about HAARP by the military. Asked about the program, a spokesman for Governor Tony Knowles replied, "We have no idea what you are talking about." State Representative Jeanette James, whose district surrounds the HAARP site, has repeatedly asked Air Force officials about the project and has been told "not to worry," she says. "My gut feeling is that it is frightening. I'm skeptical. I don't think they know what they are doing." This not the last we will hear of HAARP. Whether or not the program's sponsors understand its long-term effects, they appear to feel that the potential for useful military payoffs makes it worth taking some political heat although they may not have expected to attract any attention way out back in Alaska's sub-Arctic taiga.
The general public will never know about any negative effects. There are, and will be plenty of credible experts that will claim that there is no negative risks whatsoever. Plausible deniability will always be the the defense… and after all… who would believe that any one could control or effect the weather. You can only imagine what you will never know.
What if the colder winters could create bigger profits for energy companies… which they would. Would they have the morals to resist the exploitation to control the weather and create colder winters merely for the sake of profits? Big business, government, and politicians… could there ever remain any question about motives and secret conspiracies to have profits and power, and control over the people? That’s for you to you to decide for yourself. Personally I don’t have much faith in those that have power and influence.
Again… just something to think about when the winters get colder, and the summers get hotter.
