Update on the FastPass+ verses the old but current paper Fast Pass system.
[OCT 10, 2013] Went into Epcot first thing this morning... right when they opened. When to get a paper fast pass for Soarin. Got met with a sign that said all the fast passes had already been given out for the whole day. The new FastPass+ system that's being current used only by Disney hotel guests, gobbled up all the fast passes for the entire day before the park was even open! I undersatnd they are rolling out the program to hotel guests first, to get the bugs out, and then to everyone later... but right now, this is not fair. The same is true for preferred FastPass+ setting for fireworks, shows, and parades... only currently available to hotel guests. They still have the paper fast passes available... but if the hotels guests can get theirs in advance before the park even opens, and none is left over for other guests (not stay in Disney Hotels), how is this fair. We paid the same premium price to get into the parks too. When talking to Disney area managers it all seems very straight forward and simple, in theory... in reality, until we all have access to the FastPass+ system, the rest of us are not getting the same benefits, while paying the same price to get into the parks. Next question... how long before they roll it out to everyone? And will they continues to have paper fast passes (sometimes worthless as today) available until the change over. There seems to be some question as to when the paper system will end and everyone has access to FastPass+. Sounded straight forward, but not feeling it right now!
