There's no evidence that they were built
as the burial sites of pharaohs.
No pharaohs were even found inside.
Some archaeologists believe they were built centuries before Egyptian rule... much like the Sphinx was believed to be from 10,000 BC long before the Egyptians, and they just reconfigured it to look like a Pharaoh's head.

in Egypt really built and by who?
