Truth in society. Funny how TRUTH is held in high regard in society, yet it is an everyday practice to evade the truth, conceal the truth, alter the truth, and outright lie... all with the intention to deceive another or everyone in general. One might conclude the lies & deceptions are the acts of criminals. But truth and deceptions in todays society is not always absolute. The highest authority in the land holds truth as an absolute. "The TRUTH, the WHOLE TRUTH, and NOTHING but the TRUTH". Absolute! Lie to a Federal Agent and it's crime. Lie in court and it's a crime for which you will go to prison. Swear on the Bible, then lie, and it's the ultimate criminal act.
Today's society has laws and penalties for lying and not telling the truth. However, telling a fractional truth that is a small part of the facts, that purposely intends to alter your perception of all the truthful facts is perfectly acceptable. This sounds like truth in advertising products or services. Say one positive truth about an absolutely negative thing for the sole purpose to alter your perception is perfectly acceptable.... at least legally, though morally corrupt. It's the cornerstone of advertising. Tell some positive facts, while omitting numerous negative aspects for the sole purpose to alter perception that all is positive.
Getting back to the highest authority in the land... politicians. They would like you to believe that being a higher authority of the land, that higher standards for absolute truth is their foundation. However, politicians are the absolute definition of examples for offering particial truths to alter your perception away from the factual truth of their deception ... fueled by their deceptive agendas. Usual not outright lies, but partical truths, of simply expressing their belief or their perception, which can not be held legally to laws about lies.
That's politics... That's government... That is are elected leaders.
So it's it no surprise that people have lost faith in politicians.

Elections are a prime example of advertising to alter negative facts to positive perception. Which is perfectly legally, though morally and ethically apprehensible. Political mudslinging... facts? ... truths? ... all intended to alter perceptions to get your vote, or not vote for their opponents.
Recent political advertisements claim that one candidate is for the people regardless on political party agendas... yet opposing advertising indicates that she always votes 100% political issues with a congressional leader that is an absolutely party hardliner.

Looking for the truth? You'll need more an a magnifying glass. What news reporting agency can you put your faith in? Sorry... they all have political agendas. So you will never hear the "TRUTH... THE WHOLE TRUTH... AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH". Growing up, news reporters had integrity, reporting the facts, all the facts, and letting you develop your own perception. Today, political reporters, true to the political agenda of their party, will tell you particial facts along with their beliefs and their perspective for the sole purpose to alter your perceptions. In fact, they will tell you what to believe and who to hate. Why? Because it works... people are conditioned to believe what so called respected reporters tell them.
Question everything... see the particial truths for what they are. Understand the someone elses beliefs and perceptions are usually not a true representation of the facts. Not the whole truth.
And worse yet... no one is legally responsible for cleaverly expressing a misleading belief or perception in an effort to change the perception of others.
