To each their own. Live your life and be happy.
Gender idenity.
Gender idenity.
Another social issue that divides society. Why the division? Because one group can not accept, condemns, and tries to tell another group how they should live their lives. And that's where the problems originate. Telling others how to live, what to behave, and what they should think. Religions plays a big part in this. It condemns others that don't follow its teachings. Add racial differences, political differences, and social status, and society is divided in countless ways. All because people simply can not accept others living by beliefs and choices different from theirs. This is especially questionable and objectionable when it doesn't affect their personal life in any way... But still they are offended. Live and let live.
But when one sides pushes, the other side pushes back, creating more division, animosity and more controversy. The gay community wants to live their life as they want. Why not?... Others do. I can respect that. But nothing is pure in how sides seek respect. Now there's the entire controversary over how gays should be referred to... gender nouns. Well, to each their own. Be what you wish.
But when the gay community want others to refer to them by the gender nouns that they want for themselves, it sometimes crosses the line. Don't condemn me for calling what looks like, or I know to be a girl by their born or obvious gender. If you are a girl, look like a girl... It's okay to ask to be called a he or him... It's not okay to condemn others when you expect them to conform to your preferences. I will respect any ones personal choices... Don't be offended when others use the wrong gender nouns. Respect is given as respect is received.
Today in the news... There's going to be a protest at a school board meeting to mandate that teachers should refer to kids by the gender nouns as they see themselves... Otherwise the kids will experience emotional trauma and feelings of rejection. Well... that certainly is a concept is going to have no positive outcome and lead to more controversary.
My personal perspective... Teachers by their choice, not by mandates, could show respect to use preferred gender nouns, but should not be condemned if they don't. It's school... Born a girl... registered as a girl... named like a girl, dress like a girl... Don't be upset if you are referred to as a girl. Same goes for boys.
I have three grand daughters, two are gender opposites... and want their mom to refer to them as boys... he and him. And are upset and offended that she won't. Resulting in continued family turmoil.

So its not just a social issue, not just a school issue, not just a friends issue, but also a family issue. In the real world groups separated by social differences have always not accepted others, and refered to other groups by undesirable labels.
Sometimes you have to accept that others think and believe differently from you. You shouldn't condemn them, nor they condemn you. Being offended only aggrivates yourself and others to no positive outcome.
Live and let live... It's a concept that's lost today. Perhaps it never really was anyway. Just more intense now with social media.
