Night time magic... Magic Kingdom at night is our favorite time to visit the park. We were blessed to be annual pass holders for several years, and cast members for eight years at Disney world. Both got us unlimited admission to all the parks whenever we wanted. Many times we would simply go into the parks either for a few early morning hours or for 3-5 evening hours. Most of the time it was the evening night time hours that we enjoyed the most. The sun goes down and the lights come up to reveal a truly wonderful world of color. Plus it was generally cooler and most times the crowds were some what thinned out. Since we had access to the parks whenever we wanted, were not under the constraints of having to do it all while on vacation, so we were really in no rush for anything. We would take advantage of rides & attractions when they were walk ons. No waiting, just walk right up, and enjoy the ride. But the main attraction was the night time atmosphere. Calm and relaxing. Night time colors is truly a different world. One of the best times to get on rides was when everyone else was watching the fireworks or attending one of the two night time parades. They pretty much covered the time from 830 -1130pm. Crowds would gather 30 minutes before the 9pm parade to get a viewing spot, and by the time the parade was over, most stayed in their spots for the fireworks at 10pm. The parade once again drew the crowds at 11pm, so many of the rides and attractions were walk ons during this time. There were too many times to count when we enjoyed the fireworks and the night time parade, so missing some in favor of catching "no wait rides" was not an issue. It worked out quite nicely. This strategy would no longer apply since I have heard that there no longer is a night time parade at Magic Kingdom over three years now. That's a real shame, the parades, especially SpectroMagic, were to highlights of the evening. Another cost cutting measure. There's a lot of that going around the last several years. Nevertheless, colorful evenings at Magic Kingdom were wonderful and relaxing. Here's a few memories of the night time magic.
