Second childhood

Second childhood. It's an expression that I heard all the time growing up. Never really knew or cared what it meant... Never gave it a second thought. But now that I'm older... okay,  much older,  I finding that I discover more and more meaning to that phrase with each passing day.
Without going into specifics,  things that you did as a child,  grew out of as an adult,  and now find that once again, here you are repeating those same things as a older adult.
Things that were hard as a kid,  were easy as an adult, and now hard again as a senior.
Things that were odd to do as a kid, easy as an adult, and once again even more odd to do as a senior.
Here's some examples:
As a kid you could make a mess of everything you were doing,  as an adult you mastered all those skills,  and once again as a senior,  you can once again make a mess of almost everything you are doing... with out even trying.
As a kid everything had to be explained to you twice... as a senior, again, everything is explained to you... multiple times. And again, as a kid, you really don't care about the explanation anyway.
As a kid your mom told you everything to do.... as a senior, the mother of your kids... a mom... now tells you what to do... and once again,  you don't listen, go figure.
As a kid, no one listened to you... as a senior its pretty much the same way.
As a kid you learned things for the first time... as a senior,  you have forgotten things and learn them again as if it was for the first time... and again, you will forget most of it.
As a kid play time occupied your every thought... It's the same as a senior.
As a kid, doing nothing "was" doing something... as a senior, again, doing nothing is considered doing something... doing nothing sure wears me out.
As a kid, eating vegetables, "I'm got gonna", and you can't make me...  as a senior they try the same thing... nope, not happening... except for now, I don't have to sit at the table until I do.
As a kid, cartoons were great... as an senior animations are our cartoons.
As a kid making a mess with water was natural... as a senior its the same way only more so... and still don't really care.
As a kid, stupid things seem possible, so you try it... As a senior most things you try end up stupid.
As a kid you learn to ride a bicycle... As a senior,  you learn again, only the lessons are harder.
As a kid you don't have a plan but try it anyway... as an adult there's always a plan... as a senior you're back to no plan, just jump in and hope for the best.
As a kid you have hopes, dreams and lots of imagination... as an adult you are too busy working... As a senior, you're back to hopes & dreams, but mostly imagination.

As a kid, all you think about is being a kid... as a senior, you think a lot about being a kid again.

So there's a just few things about a second childhood.
