Generation gap. We heard that phrase when we were kids back in the 1960s. We grew up differently than our parents and grandparents. But we still were taught family values and social communications skills... sometimes self taught... but we learned them. We also learned that life is not always fair and how to deal with it. We learned respect and had a sense of fair play. Live and let live was a concept that helped us enjoy a happy life. These things were carried with us through our adult life.
Today's younger generation despite the efforts of parents and grandparents turned out completely different. Perhaps a product of the electronic generation, the internet, and social interactions that mainly occur via media. Face to face, one on one interactions and the social skills that are developed through personal interactions are being lost on the current generation. The new generation gap? They are the me generation to the ultimate factor. Everything... Absolutely everything is about them. Under developed in social skills... and a sense that anything that is not in accordance with their desires is a source of conflict... Live and let's live is a concept list on them. Therefore they are offended by almost everything, even if it doesn't directly affect them. Even things that happened over 200 years ago. They believe life should always be fair and in their vision of what life should be. No wonder they are not able to be happy in life. Misery indeed loves company when they group together to protest whatever offends them. So what will tomorrow bring forth with the new me generation?
