LOOKING BACK : Celebrities. They make tv, movies, and entertainment more enjoyable... And many are good at it. There's always been the impression that their on screen or public image is actually a portrayal of their actual personally, the kind of person that they really are. And in some cases, perhaps most, this is true. But many are simply illustrations of their public image and they are nothing like their public image. And somehow, the public admiration of their celebrity status has somehow given them creditability as to their personal feelings... especially as it pertains to politics. So why do they think that because of their popularity that they should be able to influence public opinion. Could it be their honesty & integrity as it pertains to public image? Is the general public so easily influenced by the thoughts of celebrities, even to influence elections? Perhaps to some degree. But why does the media give them such a lofty stage to express their opinions as if they were authorities that should be listened to? And are people really persuaded to their way of thinking?
In any event... credibility and integrity seem to be greatly lacking in those that would influence us as the voting public. How so? Several were absolutely adamant that if their candidate wasn't elected, and Trump won the election, they would actually leave the country. So much for integrity... they never left, and they are still here. Something to consider when celebrities want to influence your thinking. Of course this is not limited to actors... news casting personalities have this same mentality of not accepting the voting results and continue to do everything to create political unrest and division among the general public... and they are good at it.
So... What were those highly creditable promises that were made?
