Booze plus... Disney is always expanding the availability of everything alcohol... beer, wine, mixed drinks, and hard liquids. Not only expanding what types of alcohol is available, but also ever increasing locations where it can be bought. At one time alcohol was only in epcot in table service restaurants. Later expanded to carry out around the park, and then added more locations, and more parks, finally to include Magic Kingdom. Given the issues that Disney has experienced at Epcot on Friday and Saturday evenings during the food and wine festival, commonly referred to as the beer and wine festival, it came as a surprise to expand the sale of alcohol without resolving and developing better controls to address the issue of drunken guests walking through the park. Despite concerns of family oriented guests, Disney actually promoted alcohol consumption via "beer passports", themed T-shirts, and slogans to encourage over consumption, and ultimately drunkenness. While most people drink responsibly, there's always those that drink too much, get drunk, and become rude obnoxious and verbally abusive to other guests. All without adequate controls on consumption. Disney has a detailed program to train cast members, but with numerous locations to buy alcohol, and the fast service kiosks (get them in & out quick), there's no opportunity to observe drinkers, thus circumventing the entire training process further promoting drunkenness by those that cannot control themselves. You ask... Why would Disney do this? Alcohol is big business and big profits. So what's next? How about alcohol in desserts. Alcohol effused desserts. Draw your own conclusions & concerns.
