PC savvy

Who’s the Boss… me or my Pc? ( We’ll call my Pc… “Paco”).  Sometimes I certainly wonder. I still use Windows XP Os. I like it, I know it, and I like all my old programs that work on it. But more modern updates seem to be at odds with older operating systems and programs. I’m glad that Paco can not talk… don’t know if the “HAL 9000” scenario would be to my liking… Paco telling me what he was, or wasn’t going to do. It’s quite bad enough that he puts a box on the screen saying that he can not do this operation… and will either not tell me why, or give me a code that is unsearchable, so I still don’t know what the problem is. At least Paco still communicates in English. Although sometimes then, I still don’t understand his techno language. So what’s the answer? …  Idoeno.

Copied files seem to get messed up…

and Paco even tells me…

So, even if it’s not, what do you do?

Then he transfers the files….

and you know what happens… yep.

Try to fix it… and Paco retaliates.

not very amusing.

So here I sit…

Trying to find a way around everything to get Paco to do what I want.

Sometimes yes… sometimes no.

But it’s always an ongoing process. Kinda like a chess game… what move can I make to get Paco to do something and get the end result I want. I move, Paco counter moves… who’s gonna prevail? Ahh… “check”… I think it’s gonna work. Today I win! Tomorrow I might loose. Advantage me… I can always turn Paco off, and walk away… he can do neither… and live to fight another day.

Wait… what do you mean I have fragmented files? and lost clusters? and restore is nonfunctional? Back up is not available? and Task manager is under Paco’s control. File can not be deleted: being used by another program. Okay… I give up… what do you want Paco?

Okay. and yes I know… it /// okay… she needs to be fast… and willing to sync…  Okay. Anything else?

Okay. How long? What? How long does it take to sync? Never mind… I don’t want to know! Okay… I’ll turn the screen off.
