Trick or Treat

🎃 Halloween 🎃 60 years later. Today, we have better decorations, better movies, better costumes but there's very little is as it once was. For safety we now have Trunk or Treat, or certain businesses handling out candy... but its not the same as when I grew up, no for to door. I grew up in a community of over 300 row homes. It was a very social community filled with tons of kids. Neighbors, classmates, and friends. Everyone went door to door Trick or Treating, collecting candy and being scared at the spooky houses. It was a safe place even after dark, all the homes were decorated. Candy, homemade treats, apples, and cheesy costumes, but great memories. Halloween parties and music. So glad to have grown up in that environment. Today, almost no houses decorate, and what there is, well, hardly shows much effort. It's even more "nothing" out here, isolated in the country, where there's hardly any kids in the community and houses are spread out. I'm the only one in the neighborhood that decorated outside. But I do it every year, even though there are no trick or treat kids coming to the house. Someday, I guess I'll be to old to bother, and be merely a cirn stalk, and two pumpkins on the porch steps... but I'll always have the memories. Hope y'all enjoy a safe and Happy Halloween 🎃.
