Classic & Tradition

Classic & Traditional

Disney World.... call me of fashioned and traditional.
Every time Disney builds something new... something else is eliminated. Changes and updates are always forthcoming. Most are welcome for new attractions.  It's not so bad, even mostly good when entire areas are repurposed from less popular shows and attractions for something new and exciting. Some things strike a nerve when classic attractions are eliminated... Especially when they have classic significance. Most especially when they were part of Walts dream and design. Classic envisioned by Walt... traditional. As for myself, a traditional classic attraction designed by Walt is sacred.
In this case, the Liberty Belle Riverboat and Station.

It's not that the Rivers of America or Tom Sawyer
Island was a big attraction... Probably less popular than ever... so it won't really be greatly missed.

But the Riverboat is different... I always enjoyed taking that ride... That relaxing river ride that was not only a rest from the walking around the park and the lines. But it represented an era gone by... the Mississippi riverboats from 200 years ago, classic Americana.

Magic Kingdom is basically land locked, so a completely new area, Cars & Radiator Springs... well, something has to go. Still a sad day.  Sad to think the last time I enjoyed it... now is gone forever.

Sad to see it now.

Memories...

Many things are gone over the years like the dedication fountain at Epcot. Nations from around the world brought water from their countries in dedication to Epcot and world showcase. Torn down for Moana. At one time, it was most important,  very significant... but was discarded as if it meant nothing. Yep, times change.
