Pumpkins... Paint or carve?
Potentially both could present problems. Carving... Involves two things... A knife and old age. Painting... while you can't cut yourself, spilling paint could be an issue. Or as I've seen in the past, a newly painted pumpkin with fresh wet paint gets knocked off the table and like a paint roller, rolls across the floor leaving a trail as it rolls away. So painting outside is clearly the obvious choice.
So... Painting it is.
