I guess there's lots of ways to look at this issue... although I only see one. Thousands upon thousands got student loans in the past and paid back their debt. Now ... "its all about me generation"... got their education paid for, graduated, got the best jobs, make a great living... and now, after getting everything they bargained for, they feel its unfair to have to pay for what they contracted to do. Never mind all that came before. Never mind all those in the future. They want their loans forgiven... again, all the benefits of a great education, great job, great income... but wanting a free ride on the tax payers quarter. All this while saying that seniors who get social security checks and Medicare should be considered a welfare type handout. Correction.... we paid all our lives, in advance, without any option, into the social security and Medicare funds. It's benefits that we paid for, not something were getting for free.
So I guess this is one perspective. And you could argue that the up and coming generation is the future... but this still shouldn't relieve them of their responsibilities. But that's their mentality... get what they want... not take responsibility for themselves, or accept any consequences for their actions or decisions.
What a world we are facing when they are completely in charge.
But that's just my perspective... to each their own.
Something for nothing...
No responsibility
How about they nullify your degree?
Well, that's not fair!
Cry me a river... You got a hard life.
