Oh...Domino.
Growing up and spending the first 49 years of my life in Baltimore there were many iconic things that symbolized the very heart and soul of the area. The Chesapeake Bay, blue crabs, Old Bay seasoning, McCormick Spices, the Orioles, and the landmarks like Fort McHenry, the Dominos Sugar sign that towered over and lit up the Baltimore harbor since 1951. Some things that were dear to the heart have long since disappeared. When first reading about the Domino sign coming down it seemed as if we lost another icon. A later news article told the whole story... the old sign was functionally outdated after 70 years and was being replaced with modern lights. Can not imagine the harbor without such an iconic sign beaming through the night sky... a beacon over the inner harbor.
