You can be...

Ya know what's nice? It's nice to shop in town and make eye contact with people... and despite the pandemic masks, you still get a friendly head nod or a kind word or two, even if only a cheerful hello... despite ethnic origins. People can look for an ugly world and promote it, or be kind in spite of it. Be the change. You can be the change.

Test

Tests... we don't do tests... but....
Good old test...
If you remember:
5 of these... You watched too much old reruns.
10 of these... Your pushing 60.
15 of these... You're long past 60, pushing 70's.
Isn't it nice to realize that shows you grew up with were from 60+ years ago.
Yep... You're old... Some of y'all are beyond old.
Dont y'all feel better now?

NCIS NOLA

New Orleans...
What can you say,  another good show that has been cancelled.  As all shows eventually do... they always end sooner or later. Perhaps this one was before its time. One could site several reasons. The writers got off track a bit here and there, but for me, the changes in characters, one by one, killed the show little by little.
Characters that left the show...
First was the Mary ( Zoe McLellan) that left us unsettled.
Then city mouse, Percy (Shalita Grant).... Disappointing
Then city mouse, Chris LaSalle ( Lucas Black) left, seemingly putting the show gasping for some final breaths.... Completely disappointing.
The addition of Tammy Gregorio (Vanessa Ferlito) worked out well, as did Double P... Patton Plame (Daryl Mitchell).
The addition of other characters never quite filled the bill for replacing those that left.
Shows change characters over time... Some changes are so disappointing for the fans never really accept or recover.
That may not be why the series was cancelled by CBS.
But for me, the loss of characters, especially LaSalle, certainly made the appeal for show greatly decline.
Goodbye to a good show that was once great.

Demeanor

So... which one represents my demeanor?
Depends on the time of day.
And who I'm with.
And what they do.
And what they say.
But I do so enjoy evaporating skills.
Even though we are all bonkers.
Oh look, its time to go...

Visits

1. You grew up in Maryland
2. You moved to Florida
3. You visit Maryland
4. This is how you return to Florida.
5. Go figure.
( from Maryland... You know what I mean).

Something missing?

Now... now I'm packed...

It's still gonna because beautiful day... enjoy!

Thought for the day... be it ever so twisted...

Sunrise to sunset...
Enjoy every moment.

Vaccine

Registered for vaccine shot on the new system 4 weeks ago.
Waiting... waiting...waiting... ... ... wait no more.
Appointment for 9:30am.
Got my appointment on 36 hour notice for vaccine.
15 minute drive from home. Showed up 10 minutes before... screened... get in line 5 minutes before appointment. Inside by 9:28. 4 minutes in que. At nurses station to get shot by 9:32.
Wow... super impressed with organization and how smooth everything went. I was a bit worried because I've heard lots of negative stories about trying to get the vaccine... and nothing but silence for 4 weeks since registering.
15 minute observation period. Out by 9:47. Impressed! Couldn't believe how smooth the process was at the vaccination location.
First of two shots for moderna vaccine, return in 28 days for second shot. No side effects at all... not even a sore arm.

Senior

Questions by seniors...
Is it normal to occasionally think about your own mortality every so often.... being much closer to the end than the beginning?
Or, what will it like at  75? 80? 85? 90?
The older we get, the more things change, the more friends we loose, and the worse part, we become less significant. Could not imagine living to 90+ or 100 when everyone has gone and everything has completely changed.
Maybe it's simply too much idle time to think about things.
Pandemic isolation and all.
What can you do?
DAILY: Always cherish those around you everyday.

Sometimes I feel old.
The sun is setting...

In my minds eye...
It's another new day...
Wow!

Spring

Good morning... Happy spring equinox... first day of spring.

NCIS

NCIS... The original... New Orleans... and Hawaii Five-0.
The rumor mill and speculation is full on.
We all know that CBS cancelled Hawaii Five-0.
Much to my disappointment, I really enjoyed the show and was looking forward to more cross overs with Magnum Pi.
CBS has also cancelled NCIS New Orleans for next season.
Again disappointed... liked that show too.
Now there's rumors of Mark Harmon (Gibbs) possibly leaving NCIS.
Speculation is that if he leaves, NCIS might to cancelled.
On the brighter side, CBS is rumored to be considering a new show, NCIS Hawaii. Said to be an easy production as it would simply take over the production facility that was used for Five-0.
Looking forward to the new show.
Casting the new show has speculation all over the place.
Scott Cann, Grace Park and Daniel Dae Kim from Five-0 maybe joining the NCIS  Hawaii cast. Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo from NCIS are also being considered, as is Maria Bello. Scott Bakula also came up in the mix since New Orleans is being cancelled. Then there's new actors & characters. Speculation... some of the cast from Lucifer. Should be interesting to say the least. It would be nice to see familiar characters on the Hawaii edition of NCIS. Five-0 characters would be a big plus for me. Tony and Ziva would also be a great addition.
Not sure about Maria Bello character Jackie. Nor does it seem logical that Duane Pride would ever leave his beloved city of New Orleans.
Guess we'll all have to wait for the final big picture to develop.
Hope NCIS Hawaii comes to be... Especially with the loss if New Orleans, and possible loss of the original NCIS if Mark leaves the show.

Q&A

Questions and Answers...

There's an old saying... One should be conscious of the possible answers before you ask the question. You never know what the answer might be.
or if you prefer... Don't ask a question you don't know the answer to.
Having said that...
(the names were changed to protect the identify of those involved)
Enter the room... "M" asks what do you think if I told you "J" was going to stab me with a knife? ( no doubt thinking that we should be appalled by this )
My response: "how bad did he stab you?
Clearly, this was not the response that was expected.
Seeking a more adult response  "M" asks "C" the same question.
"C" asks... "so what did you do to get stabbed?"
Once again... clearly not what "M" wanted to hear.
So I said... "well, we could ask a third person if you can handle the answer".
S i l e n c e ... "M" exits the room. S i l e n c e  continues.
Except for me & "C" laughing... Go figure!

Kids

Kids of yesteryear... yes , those thrilling days of my childhood that existed somewhere in the middle of the last century. We had three main phases to our life. School, sleep, and playtime.
School occupied our time from 7am until 4pm weekdsys inclusive to the 1- 1/2 mile walk to and from school every day. 4-9pm was play time except for supper. Playtime was almost always outside. Weekend playtime was outside from 8am to 9pm. A neighborhood full of kids gave us lots of social time. Not only was it fun but the side benefit was that we developed social skills that would serve us well in adult life. Well, most of us anyway.

~~~~~ Spring forward to today ~~~~~
Kids today seemed to be occupied with lots of drama. Social skills consist of drama and controversy on social media. A product of the me generation that are offended by everything and everyone else is rude. That sums up 90% of their existence. Hope they grow out of this. Couple failing social skills with the the whole self idenity issues in relation to personal relationships and even gender status. Throw in all the heavy issues that are in their face everyday on social media... politics, racism, prejudice, violence, gay rights, and moral issues from all sides... It's enough to make your head explode. They don't even have the chance to grow up as kids having fun.
We had more as kids growing up with nothing than kids today that have everything and loose their childhood to social media and all the problems of the world.
Funny... and our parents thought that television was a bad influence on us. How everything has changed... for the better and for the worse. Emotionally socially negatively influenced by a changing world.
Fun with food
Fun with food. As a kid your imagination exploded in all directions.
Of course I always remember hearing my parents say... "stop playing with your food". Imagination was not appreciated atvgge dinner table.
As an adult that all changed.
Fun... fun... fun.
Unless it's 2am in the morning and
You're all alone with your imagination
And you watched a horor movie last night
(that's why I'm awake at 2am)
Reason for concern?
Idoeno.
Adult life
Adult life after retirement.
Fun and challenging.
Fun for me...
Challenging for others.
Refined to a sharp edge.
Wielded like a sword.
Oops
Oops.... awake since 2am (again)... Didn't read too careful... already did up to number 9... now what? Well... It's gonna be a long day... might as well plan on doing the rest. So... what should I do this afternoon?   PS....
No I don't have anything else to say... (playstation!).
Ps: so why did I stop at #9? Didn't get the response I was hoping for... go figure.... 3am and all.
Guess I did have something else to say.
