Monorails in the news

Disney World Monorails in the news.
The current fleet is approaching the 30 years mark. Insiders say it was originally intended to last 20 years ... so, replacing the ailing fleet is long over due. There have been multiple mechanical break downs. First there was the rumors of it being replaced. Then, supposedly it was confirmed that the fleet was going to be replaced. Then it was confirmed that there was no plans to replace the fleet of 12 monorails. In the meantime, failures continue to plague the fleet, fortunately no one has gotten hurt ... yet. Certainly there's been lots of inconvenience and unnecessary risk, and then there's the underlying feeling of what's going to happen next and will someone get injured. Disney is on an unprecedented building & remodeling frenzy... constructions going on everywhere. But there seems to be no concern over the monorail issues. I guess time will tell. In the meantime all we have is speculation, because apparently there is no absolute answers from Disney.
I guess time will tell. Thousands of people use the monorails, its an intricate part of the transportation system. Plus there's the fact that they have always sed been too cool.  Here's some excerpts from articles that I follow ... generally they have lots of great information.
