Inspiration…. now there’s a really broad topic. Today’s insight, for lack of a more appropriate word, centers on how to inspire yourself. We all have influences that allow our own thought processes to apply good and positive things that we observe, and translate them into the possibilities for ourselves. Our own mental outlook, expectations, and frame of mind will greatly influence the final outcome. You usually get just what you expect… so expect something good to happen. So here’s a little food for thought…
It’s been said before:
If you keep looking for the bad things to happen… you will find them. The same is true of the opposite… so look for good things to happen… and you will get them.
If you knew that you could not fail… than what would you attempt that you normally would not? The results may surprise you.
Failure is all in the way you look at it… Edison found over 200 ways NOT to make a light bulb… he didn’t fail 200 times… he just eliminated another way not to proceed.
Which bring us to another saying… If at first you don’t succeed, try, try, again.
Don’t sweat the small stuff… and note: It’s all small stuff!
Life is a succession of lessons which must be lived to be understood
Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.
Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.
The thing always happens that you really believe in; and the belief in a thing makes it happen.
The greatest results in life are usually attained by simple means and the exercise of ordinary qualities. These may for the most part be summed in these two: common-sense and perseverance.
The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack in will.
I cannot give you the formula for success, but I can give you the formula for failure--which is:
Try to please everybody.
Success does not consist in never making blunders, but in never making the same one a second time.
Many insights from many people… Here’s one of my favorites from Ben Franklin…
Happiness depends more on the inward disposition of mind than on outward circumstances.
So there’s just a few things to think about… I mean… really think about!
Change your mind… change your fortunes.
