Questions of the Day…

Random thoughts and questions of the day. Cause it’s what I do first thing in the morning. You can consider most of these questions to be rather… well… just something to think about… or not. Only some are serious! It’s up to you to decide. Or perhaps it’s a falderal!  ( Oh good, another word that spell checker found that’s NOT in Webster's. )  The English Language is flawed. Grammar and Punctuation only further and elevate the agony. We are taught that communication must be in the proper form… and who made this a rule for the rest of us? No doubt the same person that thought “X” & “Z” were needed, and could not be lived without! Some where we got so hung up on the rules of communication that our kids lost the ability to really communicate…. for fear of all the rules. For myself, I care not for most of the rules of Grammar etc… ( Grammar with a capital “G”). I like the pretty red squiggly lines everywhere! But onto more serious topics…

  • Why don’t you have a blog too… it’s easy and lets family & friends know what you are doing, thinking, and what brings joy to your life. Maybe even entertaining and amusing to others. Seriously… why aren’t you blogging, you probably Facebook or tweet… so take the next step. Share!
  • All we alone?… as in the universe! Now there’s a good question. Several blog entries ponder this very question.
  • Why don’t we vote everyone is Congress OUT! New blood, new start, and they certainly couldn’t do any worse! But even this is wishful thinking.
  • Why did the biggest fish get away? and why is my picture if it “suspect”? … right.. Photoshop!
  • Did you know that we got rid of the ½ penny when it’s buying power was 10 times that of the current penny? and that today’s penny cost the American tax payers (via our common sense government) 11¢ each to produce from the very beginning of the process to your hands. Millions and millions in circulation and production that cost 11¢ each… but are virtually totally worthless! Duhhh!
  • Why do Tv commercials always show stupid people doing incredibly dumb things and expect us to identify with them… and buy their product? And why do they think that by having the commercials sounding annoyingly louder than the show we are watching, that we will pay more attention and thus being annoyed to the maximum… we will think about buying their stuff…. I think not!
  • Why if so many weight lost systems work, do they need to keep advertizing them… year after year… we should all be thin by now.
  • Why does Mickey have only four fingers…. High Four! Probably a good thing!
  • Does anyone really know how many licks it really takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Pop?
  • Why do commercials show us what their cars and do, when they say “do not attempt to do this” (unsafe)… and it’s illegal anyway? Want to sell me a car, show me a boringly car lasting forever and 100,000 miles with no repairs! … and runs on the element “N2Hic3C3Po” (from the moon) for $5 per year!
  • Were the Mayans Right? and… are we interpreting what they knew correctly?
  • Why do they say that just one space shuttle load of this certain compound from the moon could power the entire U.S. for a year… and we are not interested in going there to get it?
  • Why does a food place advertise this greatest product, that is so wonderful that we can’t resist it, but it’s only available for a limited time? So why do I want to find something else I like only to not be able to get it again?
  • Why can I remember phone numbers from 1955 but forget the names of new neighbors I met yesterday?
  • Who built the pyramids? and Why? … I’m sure it wasn’t who we are taught! and… are they coming back?
  • Why did we call a $20,000 house payment a mortgage ( many years ago), but a $35,000 car is still a loan? Should it be a Car Mortgage? … sure feels like it!
  • We have lots of batteries… the “A” series, “C’s” & “D’s”… what happen to “B’s”?
  • How do we know 'Dyslexia' is spelled correctly? doesn’t look right to me.
  • How can a PC be so smart and still offer alternative spellings for the word you spelled wrong… and they don’t even start with the same letters? … so who’s stupid here?
  • Why do we have needless letters in the alphabet? Just pick one… “C” or “K” … and why do we need X or Z if it’s suppose to sound like “S”? and BTW… we need to shoot the person who thought of… “The Silent Letter”.
  • Why do they always start off the evening news with "Good Evening" when all they talk about is bad news?
  • When a tornado takes your house, taking everything you own and your car with it, and it’s oblivious that this is the worst possible day of you life… Why do reporters ask… “how does that make you feel?” … and why isn’t there a law that lets you just smack them? … repeatedly!

       And one final thought…..

  • Do you ever wonder if there is any connection between your reality and that of others? And if there is, are any similarities purely coincidental or destiny ? What is reality anyway… merely a perception… right?  Or maybe it has to do with the moon and stars.
  • Maybe annoying stupid commercials are just a state of mind… or perhaps they really do identify with so many others… that would explain a great many things. Another Mystery Revealed! There are so many stupid commercials depicting stupid people doing stupid things because they know that there are lots of people that can identify with this level of mentality. Yep!  So now we know what the advertisers really think about most people. So we should all buy their products.

Luxury Rv’s of the Past

I guess you could say that the idea of Rv’s goes back to covered wagons heading westward.

Going back to the 1940’s is interesting enough…

Seaworld Luau

It was family day out to dinner… this was a special vacation… and a very special dinner.

Shelly’s brother Nick was here for the visit. Michael had to leave early due to a death in the family. Sorry to say that his mother passed away while he was here on vacation. Put us all out of sorts about the vacation visit… Couple of days to relax and chill and closed out the week with a family dinner at the Seaworld Luau. It was a great afternoon, and a great dinner. Thanks very much to Nick for such a wonderful treat… dinner and a show. Very Much Appreciated. We have always enjoyed going there in the past and he wanted to have a special dinner before returning to North Carolina to met Michael, and then finally returning home to Baltimore in the snow storm. What a great treat and a great evening.

Just by a thread.

Everything in life is just… well… hanging by a thread. Every little twist and turn in life. From the day you were born… all the weeks… all the years… all the places you went to, or didn’t go to… all the people you met, or didn’t meet. All the moments and decisions that changed our paths through life that an instant sooner or later could have made things turned out differently. Is there a destiny that’s written in stone… probably not. So thousands and thousands of little threads, little decisions that seemed incidental at the time, could have effected major paths in your life, or in the lives of others. The road traveled daily, but avoided today, and there was a fatal accident, right when you would have been. The plane trip that was changed, and the plane crashed. The bank that was robbed the day after you got there, because you when the day earlier. The tire you replaced the day before it would have blown out a caused a crash. The job offer you took a week before another offer came in that you could not accept. The war that ended before you were drafted. The advise you took advise from about a career when you didn’t hear a better one first. The person you would have met if you had gone on that blind date. The relationship you would have had if you had just kissed them when the moment was right. The children you would have had if you had a different mind set when younger. The fish that got away caused you use the wrong bait. The random chain of events that were completely innocent… because you caught that firefly, a little girl tried to catch another, wondered too far from home. her father went looking for her and was kidded in an accident… which would not have happened if you had not caught that first firefly… ya just never know. Small things that effected major happenings… major things that effected small happenings. Who knows what would have been. Who knows if we would have died sooner or later… based on those little threads. Who knows what little threads led you to the love of you life… and how easily it could have been broken. Who you might have met, or missed meeting for the sake of a few minutes difference. What effects pride and ego played in changing your path… good or bad. Who you might have asked out again if they had not been playing a innocent little mind game… playing hard to get… and it all would have worked out beautifully. Just a little something to think about… and be thankful for. No sense thinking about what might have been… but be thankful for what you have… appreciate life everyday… ya never know when one of those threads may divert you down the wrong path. I am thankful that that one little thread of time made the connection between me and Shelly… funny how things work themselves out for the better. Live long… and prosper! Happily! Everyday!

Social Society

The modern age of social networking. Take from it what you will… good, bad… happy, sad… privacy with friends, or the lack thereof. Communication with family, friends, and the rest of the world. Aside from the benefit of instant communication with family and friends and the ability to send text and photos at the stroke of the key… is like everything else… there’s always a price to be paid. In this case, a little more of your privacy. So be careful what you share, it’s there for everyone to see… no matter the controls, or what you believe to be safe. Nevertheless, a good place to exchange information, communicate, and have the world know who you are… or at least what you are willing to tell them about yourself. And I guess there’s a little something in most of us that always wanted to say something that millions would be able to read, hey, look at me, here’s what I’m doing… so here’s your platform.

Found an article online and thought it was very good. Not sure where it originated but it looked like a magazine article. Thought you all might enjoy reading it. Didn’t see any copyright info… and since I don’t make any money via my blog… I guess no harm, no foul. Just sharing the info as if I had given you my magazine to read. [ if anyone has a problem with this… write to RvCampingToday@hotmail and I will gladly remove it ]. Just wanted to share this great article from an unknown source. So thanks to the writer for their insight.

As I said, take from it what you will… there’s good in everything, depending how you use it.

and a great day at the pool.

Re-Invention

Disney is always ever changing… everywhere you go. Some changes are less noticeable, like changing the flowers in the flower beds to another variety. Some are more dramatic like changing the Castle Circle. It once had big trees that actually obstructed the view of the castle. It also contained built in bench’s around the raised flower gardens. Now the trees and the bench’s are long gone… and the flower gardens are now at ground level. Loosing the trees was probably a good thing… loosing the built in bench’s… well… I wish Disney had more bench’s… not less!

The Skyway from Fantasyland to Tomorrowland is long gone

I think I miss this too…

Yep… may things change over the years.

Some of the old favorites are gone for various reasons… some for safety, some due to guests interest, or lack thereof, but one things is for sure… the nostalgic appeal of old favorites that we grew up with will never fade and be forgotten. It’s a shame that all the things that are gone don’t have an exhibit of some kind… I think it would be more positive to remember the past rather than fear the negative of thinking about what is now gone.

One of my favorite things of the past was the twin water towers that marked the Entrance to Tomorrowland. Walking across the bridge from Castle Circle to Tomorrowland between the twin towers… well… they were more representative of the Future and a pile of rocks… but that’s just my feelings.

Here’s a photo of the Twin Towers

still very futuristic…

and here’s what replaced them…

Maybe some things should never change.

But with everything, Time march’s on…

and change is always going to prevail.

For the better? A personal choice!
