The Holidays and Rving Fulltime. The holidays are always a mixed bag. In the old traditional lifestyle, we were in one geographic area the entire year ( except for vacations ), and basically close to most of our friends and family. Rving does a couple of things. You gain more & more friends over time, that are literally scattered all over the country... or during the winter... all over the south. If you are from the north, than, in most cases, you will spend the winter, and the holidays, in the south. Once you have a taste of warm winters... you don't want to give it up. So we, as most snowbirds do, spend the holidays away from the area where we grew up, away from the majority of family & friends. That's the downside. You are away from family, old friends, and most of your new friends are scattered. So what do you do? Go to Disney World for the Holidays!!! You will still miss everyone... but not to the extreme that you once thought. That's my little selfish streak... we all have one, you know. But be ye warned... don't be too over zealous... too much emphasis on the good times in the warm weather when you call or write to everyone back in the Arctic tundra... and the emotions of missing everyone looses it's sincerity when it's over shadowed by warm wonderful times you are having here in the southern toasty south... and they are not! You may find that no one wants to talk to you again until the spring! So while they may be in the thoughts and hearts... be careful. New friends not withstanding... you still miss those that you hold dear to you. So Happy Holidays to all our friends & family, we truly miss you all... but 75 degrees is hard to beat when we sit her watching your weather reports... cold, snow, ice, and the blowing... cut through you like a knife... winds! Tropical breezes and palm trees... oh yea! Having done this little segment... I guess I won't hear from everyone until next spring.
But before I get ostracized... what would you do in my place... ah..ha! See! now I'm not so bad, am I ? So send me an Email...or give us a call.
