Where to start..... first there was the normal life... work... career... house... yard... pets... taxes... bills... etc. The American Dream... but not mine. I worked 30 years for the same company. The first 20 years, following the American dream... or so it seemed. Then suddenly, that life was apparently someone elses dream... maybe mine once... but not now. The last 10 years I planned my escape from what society considered normal. At 40 years old, I discovered exactly what I wanted to do. I had been Rving for 10 years, the normal kind, vacations, weekends, holidays, and getaways. Met a lot of people, from all walks of life, that had a different plan... Full-Time Rving. The more I learned from those that were doing it, the more I loved the idea for myself. So the last 10 years, in the normal job, I continued to plan dream lifestyle. I couldn't wait to get my 30 years in and take the money and run ( just to clarify... pension). I made my plans known to family, friends, and co-workers. Much to my surprise, though they knew very little about Rving, and I'm sure they could not see themselves doing what I was going to do, they expressed a very positive response... wow..."Wish I could do that". Was I to conclude that they were trapped and I was free... well... maybe a self imposed "trapped" ( or that imposed by society ) ... but whatever it truly was... I was going to be free! So at 49 1/2 years old, I took the 30 year pension & benefits, sold the house, most of what was in it, bought the Rv of my dreams, and drove off into the sunset. A new adventure had begun!
Chronicles our adventures in a not so conventional lifestyle... Full-time Rving. Retired and sold the house in 2003, bought the Rv of our dreams, and travel doing what we want, when we want. Plus a lot of other topics thrown in to keep it interesting... or at least I hope so. Stories & photos of our adventures and our life on the road. Hope you enjoy reading it from time to time. UPDATE: RV - LATELY STATIONARY IN THE COUNTRYSIDE OF VIRGINIA... FROM THE VALLEY TO THE MOUNTAINS.
